{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d1bd0a7a575308daad93bd13","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d1bd0a7a575308daad93bd13","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d1bd0a7a575308daad93bd13","title":"Classroom Support Assistant","description":"Job Details: Job Location: Edgewood - Columbus, GA 31907 Salary Range: $11.39 - $11.39 Hourly\nIncumbent assists the classroom teacher in providing service in meeting the Individualized Education Plan goals of a child with a disability.\nMajor Responsibilities/Activities Collaborate with Disability/Mental Health Specialist to identify children with disabilities.\nParticipate on the Multidisciplinary Individualized Education Program (IEP) Committee.\nAttend scheduled IEP Committee Meetings.\nProvide one-on-one support to children with disabilities in all settings.\nImplement IEP goals, following teacher established lesson plans.\nAssist teaching staff with observation records of the children they are assigned.\nAssist teaching staff with lesson plan activities for the children that they are assigned.\nRotate within a center, working with children in different classrooms.\nProvide support to classroom teaching staff to maintain ratio of 20:2 for four year olds and 17:2 for three year olds.\nAssist teaching staff with diapering and potty training.\nPerform other duties assigned.\nQualifications Minimum High School Diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.).\nChild Development Associate (CDA) preferred.\nMinimum one year experience with children three to five years of age.\nAbility to read and implement strategies as outlined in Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) for children.\nAn equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.\nEssential Mental Functions Ability to demonstrate good communication, problem solving and planning and facilitation skills.\nEssential Physical Functions Incumbent is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Occasionally required to stand, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Regularly lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
