This role provides hands‑on exposure to manufacturing operations, process optimization, equipment introduction, and quality control systems. The intern will work closely with engineers and production teams to support new equipment ramp‑up, resolve process issues, and analyze manufacturing data.\n\nThis is a 10‑week internship program offered from June 2026 to August 2026. The expected pay for this position is $20/hr.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAssist the manufacturing team in evaluating and defining process flows, equipment selection, and technical documentation for new or existing production lines.\n\nSupport engineering and technical activities during production trial runs, equipment installation, debugging, validation, and early‑stage ramp‑up.\n\nHelp compile, update, and review process documentation, including process flowcharts, work instructions, and process standards.\n\nParticipate in identifying and resolving on‑site process issues on the production line, under the guidance of senior engineers.\n\nAssist in tracking quality issues and maintaining documentation to help prevent recurrence.\n\nSupport evaluation and verification of new equipment, tools, and technologies for manufacturing processes.\n\nAssist in planning and conducting process experiments, including data collection, basic analysis, and report preparation.\n\nParticipate in training activities and knowledge‑sharing sessions for production line employees.\n\nFollow all safety, quality, and operational guidelines.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nCurrently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in:\nChemical Engineering\n\nMaterials Engineering\n\nElectrochemistry\n\nPhysical Materials\n\nOr a related engineering discipline\n\nBasic understanding of manufacturing and process engineering principles.\n\nStrong interest in process improvement, data analysis, and manufacturing operations.\n\nAbility to collect, organize, and analyze data with attention to detail.\n\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented manufacturing environment.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExposure to quality systems or manufacturing standards (e.g., IATF 16949, Control Plans, PFMEA, SPC).\n\nFamiliarity with basic quality tools (e.g., 7 QC tools, 8D, or Six Sigma concepts).\n\nCoursework or basic knowledge related to lithium‑ion batteries or cell manufacturing processes.\n\nInternship or academic project experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or quality engineering.\n\nSkills & Competencies\n\nAnalytical and problem‑solving mindset.\n\nStrong organizational and documentation skills.\n\nWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced production environment.\n\nAbility to follow technical guidance and elevate issues appropriately.\n\nPay Range\nBase pay is one part of our total compensation package at Gotion, and is determined within a range.
