This team supports the development, testing, and validation of new network technologies before they are deployed into production and customer environments.You’ll work with DOCSIS, fiber, cable modems, and a wide range of network hardware. The role blends hands‑on lab work, remote troubleshooting, and exposure to advanced engineering teams across the organization. It is an excellent opportunity to grow foundational networking skills within a highly technical, collaborative environment.What You’ll Work OnThis group:Operates in a network engineering lab dedicated to DOCSIS and access network technologies.Tests and validates new network designs, architectures, and equipment for future deployment.Supports other engineering teams who use the lab to test equipment such as: Optical line terminalsFiber componentsCable modemsNew access technologiesWorks primarily on the first three layers of the OSI model — physical, data link, and network layers.Performs roughly 50/50 hands‑on work and remote troubleshooting using command‑line tools and equipment interfaces.ResponsibilitiesAssist in implementing and validating network/video architecture designs in the engineering lab.Execute configuration changes and maintain documentation for network equipment.Perform hands‑on and remote troubleshooting (e.g., hardware issues, cabling, port verification, link problems).Test, analyze, and help develop new technologies focused on speed, reliability, and service improvements.Support multiple engineering teams using the lab environment.Follow engineering standards and contribute to documentation for future deployments.Learn quickly in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment.Collaborate with senior engineers and participate in ongoing knowledge‑sharing.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field — or equivalent hands‑on experience.Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.Interest in hardware, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting.Ability to work both independently and in team settings.Nice‑to‑HavesPrior customer service or support experience.Exposure to networking concepts (OSI layers, routing/switching basics).Familiarity with DOCSIS, cable/fiber technologies, or lab environments (not required).Team CultureThe team includes 8 engineers across varying levels who value collaboration, learning, and mentoring junior talent.
