The Senior Unity Developer will be focused on driving the Activities, Games, and Bonus content for our Faith-based children’s titles. Working directly with the Studio team, you will be responsible for driving the Engineering for ancillary content from prototype to the final result. With a passion for innovation and a keen eye for detail, the Senior Unity Developer will ensure that the games’ moment-to-moment and long-term play mechanics are fun, engaging, andage-appropriate, that they adhere to our 4 Foundations and match or exceed the quality seen in the top interactive choices available on the app store...all while remaining on schedule and budget.ResponsibilitiesWork directly with the Content Team to develop and fine-tune Activities, Games, and Bonus contentTranslate written and verbal requirements into compelling and engaging games.Create new game mechanics and features and draft them into actionable specsWork closely with the User Testing Team to develop, communicate, test, and iterate on gameplay mechanics and featuresIdentify and innovate opportunities to continually refine and improve the player experienceImplement new game features and services in close partnership with the content team of the project and with respect for the player’s comfort and the game’s performanceImprove existing game features based on design requestsWrite technical design documents for milestones and internal use.Analyze and deconstruct competitor products for insights into improving our gamesMaintain or exceed a consistent level of productivity while meeting deadlines and producing high-quality workKeep up on current interactive gaming offerings to ensure the team meets or exceeds the expectations of current consumersRequirementsMust-Have:Success in designing and building digital game experiences used by childrenProven experience in rapid engineeringDemonstrated knowledge of gameplay mechanics and systemsExperience and willingness to work collaboratively with Creative Directors, Engineers, and other Game and Level DesignersAbility to deconstruct and analyze mobile game competitorsKnowledge and experience in working with Production to scope, schedule, and deliver specs and game features in a timely mannerFamiliarity with the BibleStrong proficiency in game development tools and software (e.g., Unity, Unreal)High Desire to Drive Organization to Deliver to Goal CommitmentsStrong Detail orientationAbility to articulate responsibilities and goalsExpected ResultsDelivering cutting-edge casual mobile Activities, Games, and Bonus content for Games that:○ Convey God’s Truth through exceptional, creative story-telling and gameplay○ Are engaging, surprising, age-appropriate, and fun to play○ Hit predetermined engagement metrics○ Meet a consistent and exacting quality barDevelopment, testing, feedback, and iteration result in games that are inspirational, appealing, and successfulGame mechanics, features, and narrative all fit together in a simple and cohesive package to provide a compelling gameplay experience for childrenLive player data & analytics are analyzed to continually refine and improve gameplay Professional Experience/Skills:4+ years of Unity Development experience for mobile games and/or apps aimed at a younger audienceDegree in Engineering, especially in the gaming fieldExperience in prototyping and completing various gameplay mechanics, features, and systemsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively through design specsAbility to manage time and work effectively and efficiently to produce deliverables in a fast-paced, multi-project environmentProficiency in game design tools and engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Sketchup)Up-to-date with the latest game trends, techniques, and technologiesSet an optimistic tone and promote communication and teamworkLead by exampleCharacterHigh Commitment to TruPlay’s PurposeLives a life of integrityTreats others as they would want to be treatedCoachableTravel RequirementsAbility to travel to Austin (or any location that may be requested) as required by LeadershipAbout UsIn the digital age, where screens dominate children's time and attention, raising happy, healthy kids is more difficult than ever.
