{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"d13a56191e08e723ffdcfaaa","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d13a56191e08e723ffdcfaaa","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/d13a56191e08e723ffdcfaaa","title":"Data Engineer - onsite","description":"Job Title: Data Engineer\nLocation: Hanover, MD\nType: Contract\nCompensation: 55-70/hr W-2, depending on experience\nWork Model: Onsite\nUS Citizenship required by federal client\n\nResponsibilities\n\nAssign a dedicated Data Engineer to serve as the primary technical resource for data integration, migration, implementation, and post-deployment support activities throughout the project lifecycle.\nDesign and configure the Azure Synapse environment, including implementing private endpoint connectivity and developing linked services.\nMigrate existing pipelines, convert Talend ETL jobs, and validate source-to-target data accuracy.\nTroubleshoot technical issues and support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, production deployment, and operational stabilization.\nProvide technical guidance, documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing collaboration with cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, database administrators, application owners, and business stakeholders.\nBuild data analytics solutions using Azure Synapse serverless SQL pools and perform data engineering with Azure Synapse Apache Spark Pools.\nMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data systems and pipelines for high availability and performance.\nWork with Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Marts using Azure Synapse Analytics.\nTransfer and transform data with Azure Synapse Analytics pipelines and optimize data storage solutions.\nDesign and implement data storage solutions using Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure SQL Database.\nDevelop and maintain schematics, architectures, and databases for advanced analytics.\nRequirements\nExperience with Agile Development methodologies.\nData Warehouse experience.\nKnowledge of DevOps practices.\nProficiency with Azure Data Factory and Synapse Analytics for data conversions, imports, and exports.\nExperience automating tasks with scripting tools like PowerShell.\nFamiliarity with Azure Cloud Technologies such as Power Apps and Dataverse.\nAbility to integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data quality and security.\nMinimum of eight (8) years of software development experience.\nHands-on experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Stream Analytics.\nExpertise in software development using C#, ASP.NET, Web Services/APIs.\nExperience with Microsoft DevOps or GitHub and Azure Cloud Services certification or experience.\nPrior experience with Java/.NET and JavaScript preferred.\nFamiliarity with Oracle and SQL databases.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.\nEducational background in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, or related fields; a bachelor’s or master’s degree required, with substitution of 3 years of experience possible.\nPrevious experience with Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is a plus.\n\nSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
