This is an entry-level, generalist network security role designed for candidates who want to build foundational expertise in securing modern cloud and enterprise networks.In this role, you will support the design, monitoring, and protection of network infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience across network protocols, security controls, and troubleshooting practices. You will work alongside experienced engineers to help maintain a secure and resilient network environment that supports digital banking platforms.Key Responsibilities And DeliverablesSupport day-to-day network security operations across cloud and enterprise environmentsAssist with monitoring and maintaining security controls for network infrastructure (firewalls, routing, segmentation)Troubleshoot and resolve basic network and security issues, escalating when neededApply and strengthen knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP and common protocolsAssist with subnetting and IP address management, ensuring proper network segmentation and access controlSupport configuration and troubleshooting of IP routing and connectivity issuesParticipate in maintaining and troubleshooting DNS (Domain Name System) configurations and related servicesCollaborate with engineering teams to help implement secure network architecture and best practicesAssist in reviewing logs and alerts related to network traffic and suspicious activityDocument network configurations, processes, and troubleshooting stepsQualifications And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent training/experience)0–2 years of experience (internships, labs, or coursework in networking/security accepted)Foundational understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model)Basic knowledge of:SubnettingIP routing conceptsDNS (Domain Name System) and basic troubleshootingFamiliarity with networking tools or environments (academic lab, internships, or entry-level exposure)Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn in a hands-on environmentGood communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teamsPreferred DistinctionsInternship or hands-on experience in networking or cybersecurityEntry-level certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNAExposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)Familiarity with network monitoring or troubleshooting toolsInterest in advancing toward network security engineering or cloud security roleStatement to Third Party AgenciesTo ALL recruitment agencies: Candescent only accepts resumes from agencies on the preferred supplier list.
