CHILLICOTHE CITY SCHOOLSJob DescriptionTitle:Summer Learning Co-Director (2 Positions)Position A:Technology & Data Co-DirectorPosition B:Community & Events Co-DirectorReports to:Building Principal / Elementary Curriculum DirectorEmployment Status:Temporary, Hourly Summer 2025 (June 8 July 31)Rate of Pay:$35.00 per hourHours/Week:1015 hours/week (includes Check-In Days)Duration:9 weeks (8 program weeks + 1 week pre-program setup)QualificationsCurrent K-2 teacher (preferred) experience with online learning and instructional technology, tutoring, event planningFamiliarity with iReady platform and Digital Reader preferredProficiency with Google Sheets or Excel; ability to manage and organize student dataStrong oral and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate progress to familiesExperience in community outreach, event coordination, or volunteer management (preferred for Position B)Organized, self-directed, and comfortable working independently as well as collaborativelyAbility to manage volunteers and coordinate logistics for large groups (200+ students)Creative, energetic, and enthusiastic about recognizing and celebrating student achievementGeneral DescriptionTwo Co-Directors will be hired on a temporary, hourly basis to plan, manage, and operate all aspects of the K-2 Summer Learning Adventure program from June 8 through July 31. The Summer Learning Adventure is an 8-week, home-based online enrichment program for Kindergarten through 2nd grade students, utilizing iReady (Math and Reading) and Digital Reader platforms. Responsibilities are divided to ensure both academic tracking and family engagement components are handled effectively. Position A (Technology & Data Co-Director) focuses on data management, student progress monitoring, and family communication. Position B (Community & Events Co-Director) focuses on event planning, prize coordination, volunteer management, and community outreach.Specific Performance Duties Position A: Technology & Data Co-Director:Manage student rosters in iReady and Digital Reader; ensure all enrolled students have active accounts prior to program startMonitor iReady and Digital Reader dashboards biweekly to track student progress toward established goalsGenerate individual progress reports for each student prior to each Check-In Day eventIdentify students who have met, partially met, or not met their biweekly goals and communicate results to the Community Co-DirectorTroubleshoot login and technical issues for families; serve as the primary point of contact for technology support throughout the programSend weekly informational progress update emails or paper notifications to all enrolled familiesMaintain a program data spreadsheet tracking enrollment, attendance, and goal completion throughout the 8 weeksPrepare a final program impact report summarizing enrollment, participation, goal completion rates, and program outcomesParticipate in pre-program setup (1 week prior to June 8) including roster setup and family confirmation packetsSpecific Performance Duties Position B: Community & Events Co-Director:Lead planning and execution of all weekly Check-In Day events held at the school building throughout the programCoordinate prize procurement, inventory management, and prize distribution tables organized by grade level (K, 1st, 2nd)Design and print student goal-tracking charts, completion certificates, and themed celebration materials for all eventsRecruit and manage parent and community volunteers to support Check-In Day activities and activity stationsDevelop and maintain the family enrollment packet and opt-in registration process; coordinate enrollment flyer distribution via Dojo, Final Forms, Facebook, and paper copyCoordinate outreach communications including flyers, social media posts, and phone/text reminders to familiesMaintain attendance and participation records for each Check-In Day eventPlan and execute the Cycle 1 Kickoff event (Week 2) and the Cycle 4 Grand Celebration event (Week 8) in accordance with the program planServe as the primary point of contact for families with non-technical questions throughout the programThis job description in no manner states or implies these are the only duties and responsibilities to be performed by the position incumbent.
