PS&S is proud to be named NJBIZ Best Places to Work NJ 2025.\n\nPosition Summary\nThe Gas Utility Engineer will perform work on projects that are part of utility infrastructure improvement programs including replacement of aging infrastructure or system expansion and upgrades. The qualified candidate would be encouraged to work towards a leadership role.\n\nResponsibilities\nAccountable for the successful completion of assigned projects, on time, in scope and within budget.\nMonitors work for compliance to project requirements, client standards, applicable regulations and industry and engineering best practices.\nEnsures effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all stakeholders both internal and external.\nSupport the development of project schedules and forecasts for scope, budget, and resources.\nEfficient implementation and utilization of available project resources.\nCoordination and QA/QC of engineering deliverables\nDevelopment, distribution and when necessary, dissemination or presentation of periodic and as-needed project status reports.\nSupport the preparation and submittal of all applicable Federal, State, County or Municipal permits.\nExperienced in reading/reviewing design plans for linear infrastructure projects.\n\nQualifications and Requirements\nA minimum of 5 years of experience in gas utility design working with various engineering teams.\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is required.\nProfessional Engineering license is preferred.\nAn ability to effectively solve problems within a specific time frame.\nAbility to work with a team, take directions from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rules.\nAutoCAD experience required.\nMS Office proficiency and effective communication skills required.\nMS Project proficiency a plus.\nMust be able to travel to assigned areas to meet job requirements and be able to work outside traditional work hours when required.\nTravel required – 20%-40%\n\nWhat We Offer\nWe will encourage you to grow and develop your career with us through our career mapping, ongoing training, and career development program.\nWe foster an up-beat, creative, and fun environment.\nWe give you the flexibility needed to do your best work with several work options including remote, hybrid and on-site.\nWe offer competitive compensation along with an expansive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision benefits, life insurance, 401(k), tuition reimbursement and more.\n\nPS&S, LLC. is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
