W2 onlyRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Field Test Engineer to join our technical team in Berkeley Heights. This role is critical for the validation and optimization of wireless voice and data networking products. You will be responsible for executing rigorous field interoperability test plans (FIT), troubleshooting complex hardware/software integrations, and evaluating the next generation of wireless devices.The ideal candidate blends traditional telecommunications expertise—specifically with Qualcomm tools—with modern technical capabilities in test script automation and AI/ML platform integration.Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesField & Lab Execution: Execute QA-specified FIT plans and perform sanity, stability, functionality, stress, and feature testing on a variety of wireless devices.Product Evaluation: Evaluate new wireless products and accessories in lab environments, simulating diverse customer applications to verify product features.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues within hardware, software, and embedded software for wireless networking.Data & Reporting: Prepare comprehensive test result data and engineer reports to ensure full compliance with technical requirements and test plans.Automation & AI: Design, code, and maintain automated test scripts. Leverage AI/ML platforms and APIs to enhance testing efficiency and data analysis.Collaboration: Work effectively within a cross-functional team environment to meet project milestones.Required QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related technical field.Experience: 5+ years of total experience, with at least 3–5 years specifically in technical or telecommunications engineering.Testing Toolset: Hands-on experience with field test tools such as QXDM, QCAT, TEMS, or Nemo.Programming & AI: * Proficiency in designing/maintaining test scripts using Python or JavaScript.Hands-on experience with AI/ML platforms and APIs (e.g., OpenAI, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, or Azure AI Studio).OS Proficiency: Experience working across Windows, MAC, and Linux environments.Preferred Skills & ExperienceNetwork Standards: Prior experience with CDMA, EVDO, LTE, and 5G NR.Advanced Qualcomm Tools: Mastery of QPST and post-processing tools like WindCatcher, Actix, or XCAL/XCAP-M.Network Operator Protocols: Previous experience running FIT test plans specifically for Verizon, US Cellular, or other US NMOs.Specialized Testing: Familiarity with Spirent/Metrico tools (NOMAD, MUSE, Datum) and prior cell phone-specific testing.#IND
