The SQL DBA will be a member of our IT Infrastructure team, working on strategic systems, including our ERP system and warehouse management system. The successful candidate will be a key team member of growth and improvement projects and will maintain 80+ SQL databases. This role is seated full-time in Upper Sandusky, Ohio\r\nPrimary Responsibilities\r\n\r\nAdminister, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, testing, and production environments.\r\nMonitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.\r\nEnsure data integrity, security, and availability through regular backups, restores, and disaster recovery planning.\r\nCollaborate with developers and IT staff to design and optimize queries, indexes, and stored procedures.\r\nTroubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including performance tuning and locking/blocking problems.\r\nMaintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.\r\nParticipate in on-call rotation and respond to critical incidents as needed.\r\n\r\nThe Right Candidate\r\n\r\nBachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).\r\n2-5 years of experience as a SQL DBA or in a similar role.\r\nProficiency in T-SQL, SSMS, and SQL Server Agent.\r\nExperience with database monitoring tools and performance tuning.\r\nUnderstanding data security and compliance best practices.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\r\nExcellent communication and teamwork abilities.\r\n\r\nPreferred Skills\r\n\r\nExperience with cloud-based SQL solutions (e.g., Azure SQL Database).\r\nExperience with ERP and WMS databases/applications.\r\nFamiliarity with PowerShell scripting or other automation tools.\r\nExposure to high-availability and disaster recovery (HA/DR) solutions.\r\n\r\nAbout the Company\r\nKalmbach Feeds offers the highest quality nutritional products for livestock, poultry, and companion animals.
