Description
The Manager in Training (MIT) role is a hands-on leadership development opportunity designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals interested in operations, sales, and leadership within the equipment rental industry. The MIT will work closely with branch leadership to gain experience across all areas of branch operations while supporting customer service, business growth, safety, and operational performance.

Essential Functions
Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
Assists the Branch Manager in the preparation of monthly profit and loss statements and yearly budgets
Learns to utilize internal reporting tools to optimize branch financial performance
Supports the successful management of branch operations and personnel
Assists the Branch Manager in ensuring compliance with all company policies
Promotes a culture of safety and discipline through leadership, exemplary personal compliance, accountability, and communication
Driven and results oriented; business development and KPIs to meet corporate targets
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Exposure to all areas of business operation such as customer service, sales, management, and human resources
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Learn and support all aspects of branch operations, including rental processes, customer service, sales, inventory, and team coordination
Assist branch leadership with business planning, budgeting, profit and loss reporting, and operational performance tracking
Develop an understanding of KPIs and business development strategies used to achieve branch and corporate goals
Promote a culture centered around safety, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional customer service
Support leadership initiatives that align with company vision, values, and mission
Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams
Gain exposure to employee management, coaching, scheduling, and branch personnel support
Utilize internal reporting tools and operational systems to help optimize branch performance
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Participate in ongoing leadership and professional development opportunities
Perform additional operational and administrative duties as assigned
Additional Role Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong technical aptitude and understanding of construction equipment and rental industry
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work-related experience required
Supervisory Responsibilities

Travel
Up to 30% travel
Valid driver's license required
Physical Requirements
This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
Work Environment
Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
Noise level may be loud at times
Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, steam, high-pressure water, and high-speed rotating equipment
Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
