This role is ideal for a safety professional with manufacturing or aerospace experience who enjoys partnering with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to drive sustainable safety improvements and occupational health initiatives.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and support formal risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and task-based risk evaluationsDevelop and implement engineered safety controls such as machine guarding, interlocks, ventilation improvements, and ergonomic redesignsSupport capital projects and equipment installations through safety-by-design reviews and EHS specification developmentCoordinate and conduct environmental, health, and safety training programs for employeesPartner with third-party industrial hygiene consultants to evaluate workplace exposures including noise, airborne contaminants, dusts, solvents, vapors, and metalworking fluidsDrive improvements to OSHA safety training programs and occupational health initiativesCoordinate contractor and vendor safety compliance for onsite work and maintenance activitiesSupport respiratory protection and hearing conservation programs through hazard evaluation and control recommendationsAssess and improve machine safeguarding programs including CNC equipment, grinders, drills, overhead cranes, and other production machineryEvaluate and strengthen Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, crane safety, paint booth, and hazardous exposure programsLead Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) prevention efforts through critical control verificationInvestigate workplace incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions focused on eliminating hazardsServe as the primary point of contact for safety incidents requiring medical attentionDevelop and maintain EHS procedures, technical standards, and safety documentationLead internal audits, inspections, and corrective action follow-up activitiesFacilitate safety committees and employee engagement initiativesTrack, analyze, and report safety performance metricsRequired Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related technical field3+ years of safety and occupational health experience within a manufacturing environmentExperience conducting risk assessments and implementing engineering controlsStrong knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations and safety program managementExperience driving employee engagement and behavior-based safety initiativesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skillsAbility to influence operations and engineering teams to improve workplace safetyExcellent communication, technical writing, and documentation skillsFirst Aid & CPR Certification requiredHAZWOPER Certification requiredPreferred Skills & ExperienceAerospace manufacturing experience strongly preferredCSP, CIH, or progress toward certificationExperience supporting customer audits and regulatory inspectionsKnowledge of aerospace manufacturing hazards including machining, coolants, solvents, composites, dusts, adhesives, paint operations, and finishing processesFamiliarity with ISO 45001 standardsOSHA 30 Certification preferredWork Environment & Physical Requirements100% onsite role within an aerospace manufacturing facilityRegular exposure to production environments requiring PPEAbility to access platforms, ladders, machinery, and restricted work areas as permittedAbility to support incident response and occasional off-shift activitiesExposure to manufacturing hazards including CNC machining operations, metalworking fluids, chemicals, solvents, paint operations, compressed gases, energized equipment, and high-noise environmentsAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb, and occasionally lift materials as neededMust be legally authorized to work in the United States;
