Lead Workday Engineer – Process & Control- Remote workLocation: Remote / Hybrid (U.S.)Type: Contract-to-Hire / Full-TimeOverviewWe are seeking a highly experienced Lead Workday Engineer to support an automotive client environment. This role involves extracting, documenting, and optimizing business processes and controls within Workday, with the goal of transforming them into AI-powered agents for automation and intelligent decision-making.The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of functional Workday expertise and technical capability, with experience working in large enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the analysis and documentation of current-state Workday processes and controlsExtract and map workflows across modules such as HCM, Finance, Payroll, or IntegrationsIdentify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies in existing processesDesign and implement optimized workflows and control frameworksCollaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and compliance groupsEnsure alignment with audit, risk, and governance requirementsSupport data validation, reconciliation, and reporting within WorkdayProvide leadership and guidance to junior team membersDrive best practices for Workday configuration and process standardizationRequired Qualifications8+ years of experience in Workday implementations/supportStrong expertise in one or more modules:HCMFinancialsPayrollIntegrationsProven experience in process extraction, documentation, and controls designExperience working with large enterprise clients (automotive/manufacturing preferred)Strong understanding of compliance, audit, and internal controlsHands-on experience with:Workday reporting (Advanced, Matrix)Business Process Framework (BPF)Excellent stakeholder communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience working with Automobile or similar enterprise environmentsWorkday certifications (HCM, Financials, Integrations, etc.)Experience with data migration, integrations, or system transformationsFamiliarity with SOX controls and governance frameworksExposure to tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, or Agile methodologies
