While working on these projects, you will assist with highway bridge design, railroad bridge design, pedestrian bridge design and retaining wall design, and production of final plans, specifications, and cost estimates.\r\nThe ideal candidate would be available to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime throughout the summer of 2026 from mid-May through mid-August. This position would primarily work from our office in Bloomington, MN, or an assigned project site; however, there may be instances in which this position would be provided with flexible / hybrid work arrangements.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nUndergraduate pursuing a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering with interest in bridges.\r\nPrevious experience or formal training with Microstation, MathCAD, STAAD or Geopak.\r\nStrong interpersonal skills; Ability to work in a team environment.\r\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\r\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nPrevious coursework or project assignments related to structural or bridge design.\r\nThorough understanding of drafting techniques, plan development, and related engineering practices.\r\nPrevious experience developing construction plans and specifications.\r\n$20 - $24 an hour (final rate of compensation will be dependent upon your anticipated graduation date.)\r\n2026 Internship Program\r\nTKDA's internship program is dedicated to the learning and networking experience for interns, with the hope that we can build a professional relationship that will last.
