This role supports business-critical applications by ensuring databases operate efficiently, securely, and reliably while assisting with database design, troubleshooting, and optimization efforts\nKey Responsibilities:\nInstall, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server database environments.\nMonitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize efficiency.\nPerform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and testing.\nManage database security, including user access, permissions, and compliance requirements.\nTroubleshoot database issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks.\nImplement and maintain high availability and replication solutions.\nDevelop and maintain database maintenance plans, jobs, and monitoring processes.\nCollaborate with developers and application teams to optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database structures.\nSupport database upgrades, migrations, and patch management activities.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.\nMonitor storage capacity and plan for future database growth.\nEnsure data integrity, consistency, and availability across database systems.\nRequired Qualifications:\nRequired Experience/Skills:\n3 to 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases.\nStrong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, T-SQL, indexing, and query optimization.\nExperience with backup and recovery strategies, database maintenance, and performance tuning.\nFamiliarity with High Availability/Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) technologies such as Always On Availability Groups, clustering, or replication.\nExperience with database monitoring and troubleshooting tools.\nUnderstanding of database security best practices and compliance requirements.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMicrosoft SQL Server certifications.\nExperience with cloud database platforms such as Microsoft Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS.\nKnowledge of PowerShell scripting and automation.\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD processes.\nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise database environments.\n(Required or Preferred) Education:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. (Preferred)\nSalary and Benefit Information:\nThe likely salary range for this position is $128k - $134k. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
