To support progress across our industry, we provide state-of-the-art components and vertically integrated infrastructure for others to build on via Science Foundry.\nWe are seeking an experienced Facility Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our new state-of-the-art MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) cleanroom facility. The ideal candidate will ensure continuous operation of all critical cleanroom systems while maintaining ISO cleanroom standards and supporting our manufacturing/research operations.\nRole responsibilities:\nCleanroom Operations: Monitor and maintain HVAC, air filtration (HEPA/ULPA), and environmental control systems to consistently meet ISO Class 5 classification standards for temperature, humidity, pressure, and particle levels.\nCritical Utilities Management: Maintain and troubleshoot process cooling water, chilled water, compressed dry air, nitrogen, vacuum, DI water, electrical/UPS, and chemical distribution/waste neutralization systems.\nPreventive & Corrective Maintenance: Develop and execute PM programs, respond to emergency failures and alarms, manage spare parts inventory, and maintain accurate equipment records and documentation.\nVendor & Contractor Coordination: Partner with external specialists for repairs and projects, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to facility standards.\nCompliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and local regulations; oversee chemical safety and hazardous waste protocols; conduct safety inspections and maintain documentation for regulatory audits.\nContinuous Improvement: Identify efficiency and reliability improvements, implement predictive maintenance strategies, optimize energy consumption, and support facility expansion and upgrade projects.\nTraining & Knowledge Transfer: Educate and train operations staff on facility systems, procedures, and safety protocols to build team capability and operational resilience\nKey qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Facilities Engineering (or Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience)\n3–5 years of experience in cleanroom facility operations or semiconductor manufacturing, with hands-on knowledge of HVAC, process utilities, and building management systems (BMS)\nStrong understanding of cleanroom design, ISO 14644 standards, and contamination control protocols\nProficiency reading mechanical/electrical drawings and P&IDs; working knowledge of process gas, chemical handling, DI water, and electrical systems\nAbility to work in a cleanroom environment (gowning required), lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights/confined spaces, and availability for on-call/after-hours response\nPreferred qualifications:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), HVAC certification, or cleanroom-specific training/certification\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently\nDetail-oriented with solid documentation habits and a collaborative, team-first mindset\nEagerness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and evolving facility demands\nBenefits:\nAt Science, our benefits are in place to support the whole you:\nCompetitive salary and equity\nMedical, dental, vision and life insurance\nFlexible vacation and company-paid holidays\nHealthy meals and snacks provided for non-remote employees\nPaid parental, jury duty, bereavement, family care and medical leave\nDependent Care Flexible Spending Account, subsidized by Science\nFlexible Spending Account\n401(k)\nScience Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
