This position is responsible for improving the plant’s operating processes as well as planning and executing capital projects.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nProcess modifications to improve production processes, product quality, reduce costs, improve reliability, and enhance safety. This is a hands‑on, continuous improvement position.\n\nCollect data, perform trend analysis, and make recommendations to improve or maintain production rates and product quality & consistency.\n\nCollaborate with Maintenance to enhance PLC capabilities and plant reliability.\n\nProvide engineering leadership and assistance to operations and maintenance, including establishing operating parameters, developing best operating and maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and evaluating equipment failures with technical recommendations for repairs and upgrades.\n\nSupport capital projects by developing project scope, writing Process Analysis Reports (PARs), and managing project execution.\n\nOffer technical assistance for Mechanical Integrity, Quality Assurance, and reliability programs for equipment.\n\nIdentify and test new process equipment, develop flow sheets, write feasibility reports, complete cost estimates, and direct startup of new process equipment.\n\nPerform additional duties as assigned.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical or chemical preferred) or equivalent experience.\n\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or World‑Class Manufacturing techniques.\n\nExperience with instrumentation systems and programs.\n\nExceptional organizational and communication skills.\n\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with PLC programming is a plus.\n\nAbility to coach, manage, and recruit to drive improved results and strengthen the operations team.\n\nExperience executing strategic capital projects.\n\nLeadership skills to direct teams and contractors.\n\nPassion for results and a high standard of excellence.\n\nWillingness to confront mediocrity.\n\nAbout Us\nU.S. Silica is a leading producer of industrial minerals essential to modern life.
