The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing our virtualized infrastructure to ensure maximum performance, scalability, and reliability. This role requires a strong technical background, advanced troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead initiatives that improve system efficiency and security.\nResponsibilities Design, implement, and manage enterprise virtualization environments using VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V .\nAdminister, monitor, and optimize server performance, capacity, and availability.\nPerform upgrades, patches, and migrations for virtualization platforms and related infrastructure.\nCollaborate with storage, networking, and security teams to ensure cohesive infrastructure design and support.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues across server, virtualization, and OS layers.\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts to improve deployment and maintenance efficiency.\nProvide technical leadership in virtualization strategy, best practices, and emerging technologies.\nEnsure compliance with company security standards, policies, and industry best practices.\nMentor junior engineers and serve as an escalation point for advanced technical issues.\nDocument systems, configurations, and procedures for operational continuity.\nQualifications & Skills 7+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role, with a focus on virtualization.\nStrong hands-on experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter, vMotion, HA, DRS .\nProven expertise with Microsoft Hyper-V and Failover Clustering .\nProficiency in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux server administration.\nExperience with storage solutions (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).\nKnowledge of networking fundamentals (VLANs, firewalls, load balancing).\nFamiliarity with PowerShell scripting and automation tools.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to handle critical, high-pressure situations.\nExcellent communication and documentation skills.\nRelevant certifications preferred (e.g., VMware VCP , Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate ).\nPreferred Experience Exposure to cloud and hybrid virtualization (Azure, AWS, VMware Cloud).\nBackup and disaster recovery solutions (Veeam, Commvault, or similar).\nSeniority level Mid-Senior level\nEmployment type Contract\nJob function Information Technology\nIndustries Facilities Services and Engineering Services\nReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at RennerBrown by 2x\nInferred from the description for this job Medical insurance\nGet notified when a new job is posted.\nSign in to set job alerts for “System Engineer” roles.
