This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and per scope/functionality, while maintaining alignment with key stakeholders across plant leadership and business teams.\n\nTypical project budget scope ranges from $5M to $60M, including unit operations such as:\n\nMaterial handling systems\n\nAbatement/environmental systems\n\nUtilities\n\nHVAC\n\nElectrical controls & automation\n\nPackaging/production line expansions\n\nDryer rebuilds\n\nThe Sr. Project Engineer leads cross-functional teams including plant personnel, engineering disciplines, procurement, contractors, and external engineering firms.\n\nKey Responsibilities (Your Day-to-Day)\nCapital Project Execution\n\nLead execution of capital investment projects ($5M-$60M) following CPP process and division standards\n\nManage projects end-to-end: justification → feasibility → engineering → procurement → installation → commissioning → close-out\n\nDeliver projects safely with a zero-incident project environment\n\nFeasibility, Engineering & Business Case\n\nDevelop and present feasibility studies and business cases identifying:\n\nROI / expected benefits\n\ntechnical risks and constraints\n\ncost drivers and schedule impacts\n\nDrive iteration of options to determine the best technical solution aligned to performance and cost improvements\n\nPlanning, Cost, Schedule, and Forecasting\n\nEstimate project costs, resource needs, and durations\n\nDevelop and manage:\n\nproject schedules (MS Project / Primavera)\n\nbudgets and forecasts\n\nproject deliverables and milestone tracking\n\nProactively manage scope, risks, and change control\n\nVendor, Contractor & External Resource Management\n\nPartner with procurement to evaluate vendors for cost/performance fit\n\nDevelop:\n\nbid documentation\n\nsupplier lists\n\nbid evaluations and sourcing recommendations\n\nManage engineering contractors and consultants, including oversight of external engineering deliverables\n\nLead contractor performance with strong safety and quality compliance\n\nTechnical Review & Compliance\n\nReview Mechanical and/or Electrical Controls engineering design packages\n\nEnsure compliance with:\n\ntechnical specifications\n\nequipment/work contracts\n\nsafety and environmental requirements\n\npermit requirements\n\nEnsure lessons learned are integrated into project designs\n\nSafety, Ergonomics & Environmental Compliance\n\nDesign safe processes and specify safe equipment\n\nEnsure ergonomic standards are integrated into design\n\nIdentify and eliminate safety and health hazards during project execution\n\nSpecify environmentally compliant processes and equipment and ensure environmental risks are addressed\n\nOperations Readiness & Training\n\nPrepare, review, and deliver training for maintenance and operations teams as required\n\nDrive smooth turnover to plant operations with full documentation and readiness\n\nCommunication & Continuous Improvement\n\nMaintain communication to stakeholders regarding status, changes, risks, and milestones\n\nApply lean manufacturing concepts to design and execution\n\nMaintain detailed project documentation and archives\n\nMaintain continuous lesson‑learned logbook;
