Scraper Operator (CAT MTS 3630) – Day Shift - $28-32hr - $830 a week Per DiemLebanon, IndianaJob OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Scraper Operator to join our team on large-scale civil construction projects. This role is responsible for operating heavy scraper equipment to perform mass grading, cut and fill operations, and terrain preparation . The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working long hours in outdoor environments.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy scraper equipment including MTS 3630, MTS 745 (with pan), CAT 627, and CAT 637 for mass grading and earthmovingPerform cut-to-grade operations by loading, hauling, and distributing material as directedManage cut and fill areas to support proper site grading and preparation for finish dozersConduct daily pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety issuesFollow grading plans and supervisor direction to achieve required elevations and slopesMaintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safe operation near equipment, vehicles, and personnelCoordinate with supervisors, spotters, and operators on haul routes and dumping locationsOperate equipment efficiently to meet production goals while minimizing wear and damageFollow all OSHA and site safety procedures , including traffic patterns and safety protocolsWork extended shifts and adjust schedules based on project demandsTravel to job sites as needed and maintain professional conduct on all projectsRequirementsMinimum 3+ years of experience operating scrapers in civil constructionProven experience with mass grading, cut and fill, and rough grading operationsAbility to operate or quickly learn CAT and MTS scraper modelsStrong understanding of jobsite safety and OSHA complianceAbility to work long hours (10–14 hour shifts) , including weekends as neededValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordWillingness to travel to multiple job sitesStrong communication skills and situational awarenessPreferred QualificationsExperience with paddle wheel scrapers or finish grading techniquesExpereince working on large open terrain or farmland projectsFamiliarity with grading plans and earthwork processes (e.g., SWIP)Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plusWork EnvironmentOutdoor construction site on open farmlandExposure to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind)High-activity jobsite with constant equipment movementTypical schedule:6:00 AM – 6:00 PM , Monday–SaturdayOvertime and extended shifts (up to 14 hours) as neededCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive hourly pay (based on experience)20–35+ hours of overtime weeklyWeekly per diem and mileage reimbursement (when applicable)Opportunities for travel and career growth on nationwide projectsStrong safety-focused work cultureWhy Join Us?Join a team working on large-scale civil projects where your skills directly impact production and success.
