Process operators are essential to chemical plant operation. They are the front line in troubleshooting and debottlenecking process issues.\n\nOperations at K2 is 24/7, 365 days per year. Process operators are on a 12-hr shift, “modified DuPont” rotating schedule. Pay increases are based on qualification with up to 5 different areas to qualify in and no restrictive timelines. If you answered yes to some or all of these, consider a career at K2 Pure Solutions!\n\nRequirements:\n\n• Monitor and control process variables on distributed controls system (DCS) and\n\nin the field.\n\n• Collect and analyze routine samples.\n\n• Utilize/review/write standard operating procedures (SOPs) for normal process operations,\n\nstartup, shutdown, and emergency response.\n\n• Perform minor equipment maintenance and repairs.\n\n• Clear, isolate, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) equipment for maintenance.\n\n• Issue safe work permits (SWP) to maintenance group and contractors.\n\n• Return-to-service (RTS) equipment following maintenance.\n\n• Load, unload, and spot railcars for product shipments.\n\n• Setup external truck drivers to load products.\n\n• Respond to emergency incidents as part of the on-shift HAZMAT team.\n\n• Attend periodic classroom training and maintain individual computer-based training.\n\n• Communicate and collaborate with other roles within the company (maintenance, engineering, EH&S)\n\nand logistics partners.\n\n• Comply with all the policies, standards, and rules published by environmental, health, and\n\nsafety (EH&S), company, and regulating authorities (OSHA, EPA, DOT/FRA, etc.).\n\n• Improve and maintain orderly plant housekeeping.\n\n• Other duties as assigned.\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\n\n• Must be able to effectively communicate (oral and written) in the English language.\n\n• Must possess effective and active listening abilities.\n\n• Must be organized and able to successfully multi-task.\n\n• Must possess basic computer skills with working ability of Microsoft Office.\n\n• Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions, along with division using standard units\n\nof measurement (volume, pressure, weight, etc.).\n\n• Must be able to pass and maintain hazmat physical qualifications.\n\n• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety toe\n\nboots, hard hat, chemical goggles, hearing protection, gloves, chemical protective suits, face\n\nshield, fall protection harness, and full-face respirator.\n\n• Must be dependable.\n\n• Must be able to behave professionally at all times while at work.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nEducation:\n\n• High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.\n\n• PTEC degree or equivalent in chemical plant operations, preferred Experience:\n\n• Prior work experience in industrial environment preferred.\n\n• Chlor-alkali operations experience, preferred.
