This role combines traditional network engineering responsibilities with cybersecurity-focused operational support to ensure secure, reliable, and resilient network services across on-premises and cloud environments. The position requires hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting, along with an understanding of network security principles, monitoring, and secure access controls. The role also requires foundational knowledge of cloud networking and cloud security concepts.\n\nESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDesign, configure, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure\nSupport routing, switching, wireless, and secure remote access technologies, including VPNs\nTroubleshoot network connectivity, latency, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud networking issues\nConfigure and maintain firewalls, IDS/IPS, network segmentation, and access control solutions\nSupport secure network design and implementation practices across on-premises and cloud environments\nSupport cloud networking configurations, secure connectivity, and access policies across cloud and on-premises environments\nSupport identity and access control concepts within cloud environments\nMonitor network performance, availability, capacity, and security events\nPerform network upgrades, patching, hardware/software maintenance, and change management activities\nMaintain network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards\nAssist with incident response, firewall rule reviews, network security audits, and vulnerability remediation\nSupport network hardening and operational reliability efforts\nCollaborate with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to support infrastructure requirements and improve network security posture\nParticipate in network architecture, infrastructure modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives\n\nKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:\n\nStrong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching\nExperience in the design and configuration of Cisco and Meraki platforms\nExperience with firewalls, VPNs, NAC, IDS/IPS, and network security technologies\nKnowledge of network monitoring and troubleshooting tools\nUnderstanding of cybersecurity principles, including least privilege, segmentation, and secure access controls\nFamiliarity with AWS networking and security concepts, including:\nVPCs\nSecurity Groups\nNetwork ACLs\nIAM fundamentals\nVPN and hybrid connectivity\nUnderstanding of network protocols and packet analysis\nFamiliarity with vulnerability management and network hardening practices\nStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects\nEffective written and verbal communication skills\nStrong attention to detail and operational reliability\nMay require after-hours maintenance, on-call support, and incident response participation\nPeriodic travel required\n\nEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE\n\nMinimum 3–6 years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure support required. Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise network environments, network security technologies, and operational security practices. Experience with Cisco products, cloud networking, and security administration preferred.
