Line Cook
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and experience in fine dining or restaurant environments. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. The Line Cook will work closely with kitchen staff to execute menu items efficiently and uphold the restaurant’s standards of excellence.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
Assist in menu planning and ingredient preparation for daily service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
Support the kitchen team during busy periods, including catering events and special functions
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
Follow all safety procedures related to kitchen equipment and food handling
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent customer service
Skills
Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service environments
Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
Experience with menu planning, catering, and fine dining cuisine preferred
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Background in dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
Familiarity with culinary techniques, food industry standards, and kitchen equipment
Prior restaurant or food industry experience highly desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
