This role focuses on configuring and managing development, testing, and production environments, as well as preparing, testing, and deploying tools and services used across the program. It’s an excellent fit for a DevSecOps engineer—or a software engineer with DevOps experience—who thrives in collaborative, fast‑moving environments.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nAdminister and harden on‑premise systems including VMs, storage, and database hosts\n\nCollaborate with development teams to streamline build and deployment processes\n\nCommunicate complex infrastructure concepts effectively to technical and non‑technical audiences\n\nConfigure supporting services and coordinate access for development teams and end users\n\nContribute to documentation and logic/data flow design for new and existing programs\n\nContinuously improve automation, monitoring, and security toolchains\n\nDeploy and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Helm\n\nDeploy, troubleshoot, and analyze systems and services supporting course delivery\n\nDesign, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments\n\nDocument runbooks, playbooks, and system diagrams to support operational consistency\n\nImplement identity and access management best practices including secrets management and RBAC\n\nIntegrate security scanning and compliance checks into CI/CD workflows\n\nMaintain multiple Kubernetes clusters across build, test, and production environments\n\nManage and optimize container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Docker Swarm\n\nMonitor and analyze system and application performance using enterprise observability tools\n\nPerform system modeling, simulation, and analysis to support infrastructure planning\n\nSupport incident response and vulnerability management through analysis and remediation\n\nValidate products and manage deployments to ensure reliability and readiness\n\nVerify program accuracy through testing and debugging using sample data and structured test processes\n\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)\n\nBachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or related field is required or equivalent combination of education and experience\n\n5+ years of applicable software development experience\n\nExperience developing in Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript\n\nExperience with SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL/MongoDB preferred)\n\nExperience with Agile methodologies\n\nProficiency in web UI design using HTML, CSS, AJAX, JSON/XML, JavaScript/TypeScript, JQuery or similar\n\nWorking knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms\n\nTS/SCI with Polygraph\n\nCertification\n\nSecurity+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification\n\nOther Qualifications & Desired Competencies\n\nAbility to explain complex abstraction layers and troubleshooting steps\n\nAbility to work independently while coordinating with team workflows\n\nExperience with virtual machine hosting environments such as ESXi/vCenter (VMware, vSphere, vCenter)\n\nExperience with scripting languages including PowerShell, Bash, PowerCLI, API scripting, Python, Go\n\nExperience implementing STIG guidance and system hardening\n\nExperience with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket)\n\nHigh attention to detail, enthusiasm, and initiative\n\nStrong analytical and root‑cause problem‑solving skills\n\nStrong communication, documentation, and requirements‑gathering skills for collaboration with team members and customers\n\nWillingness to work flexible or overtime hours including some weekends\n\nSalary Range\n$162,000 - $200,000\n\nThe AV pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several factors including, but not limited to, level of position, job responsibilities, geographic location, scope of relevant work experience, educational background, certifications, contract‑specific affordability, organizational requirements, alignment with local internal equity as well as alignment with market data.\n\nITAR Requirement\nThis position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
