This role is responsible for setting the strategic direction of systems engineering across mechanical, structural, and dynamic domains, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and alignment with business goals. The Director will oversee the development of engineering models, simulation tools, and validation protocols that drive product performance, reliability, and cost competitiveness. This leader will collaborate cross-functionally with product development, performance engineering, and sustaining teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet evolving market demands.\nKey Job Responsibilities:\nDefine and execute the systems engineering strategy for solar tracking platforms, including mechanical, structural, and dynamic subsystems.\nLead and mentor a team of engineers specializing in FEA, MBD, wind load modeling, and drivetrain analysis.\nOversee the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of engineering models and design tools.\nEstablish validation protocols and test plans for system-level and component-level testing; ensure correlation between analytical models and physical test data.\nDrive innovation in design methods, optimization techniques, and simulation workflows to enhance product competitiveness.\nPartner with product management and R&D to guide the development of new products and enhancements.\nEnsure compliance with civil engineering standards (e.g., ASCE 7, Eurocode 3) and integrate regulatory requirements into design processes.\nCommunicate complex technical concepts to executive, technical, and non-technical audiences with clarity and influence.\nChampion a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning across the Systems Engineering function.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.\n10+ years of experience in mechanical/structural systems engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role.\nProven expertise in wind load calculations, structural dynamics, and drivetrain modeling.\nStrong background in simulation tools (e.g., FEA, MBD, Python-based modeling); experience with MSC ADAMS is a plus.\nDemonstrated success in leading engineering teams through complex product development cycles.\nExperience with solar tracker systems or renewable energy technologies preferred.\nExceptional communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with wind tunnel testing and data interpretation.\nFamiliarity with PV performance engineering and solar industry standards.\nAbility to translate technical insights into actionable business strategies.\nPassion for mentoring and developing engineering talent.\n#LI-KB1\n\nAt Array Tech, Inc., we strive to lead with our culture, and believe that our people are a key enabler of our future state.
