At Giga Texas, that work happens on the floor every day through hands-on installation, checkout, and support of automation equipment.\n\nJoin the Production Control team as an Engineering Technician supporting Cybercab production across factory automation — including AMR installation, conveyors, and production equipment. You will spend your time on equipment, panels, and systems — executing installs, supporting commissioning, fixing issues, and documenting what you find — under the same demand for speed, quality, and ownership that defines every Tesla product.\n\nWhat You'll Do\nHelp install and bring up Cybercab production automation — process equipment, AMRs, conveyors, and material-handling systems — including checklists, I/O checkout, and basic functional tests with engineers\nDiagnose and resolve common controls/equipment issues (sensors, actuators, wiring, network, basic PLC/HMI faults); escalate complex problems clearly to Controls Engineers\nAssist with PLC/HMI work under engineer guidance (backups, simple program changes, screen updates, fix verification) and maintain backups, spare-parts awareness, and field documentation for fast recovery\nSupport panel builds, field wiring, terminations, and labeling to print; keep electrical drawings and as-built notes aligned with what’s installed\nSupport AMR, conveyor, and related automation installation/checkout; partner with Maintenance and Production on material-flow equipment issues\nExecute engineer-written test plans and commissioning steps; capture results, redlines, photos, and punch-list items so equipment is production-ready; support supplier/equipment buyoffs and occasional weekend/after-hours coverage when needed\nHelp train operators and technicians on basic operation and recovery; communicate clearly with Production, Maintenance, engineers, and suppliers\n\nWhat You'll Bring\nDegree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, Industrial Technology, or a related field — or equivalent relevant experience\n2+ years in a manufacturing, automation, or industrial maintenance/controls technician role working on electromechanical equipment\nWorking knowledge of PLCs and HMIs (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens preferred). Comfort reading ladder logic, forcing I/O for checkout, and following engineer direction for simple changes. Siemens TIA Portal exposure is a plus\nAbility to read electrical schematics, use a multimeter, terminate wires, and safely work in control panels and field devices\nFamiliarity with conveyors, sensors, motors, and industrial equipment.
