TheFederal Aviation Administration(FAA) Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) is the surface management solution that will provide NextGen Air Traffic Control capabilities to improve air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).\r\nThe Terminal Flight Data Management (TFDM) program is aFederal Aviation Administration’s(FAA) NextGen program based on airport surface management that provides efficiencies for both the airport surface and terminal airspace by providing a new and comprehensive integrated surface traffic control and management system.\r\nTFDM functions include:\r\nSurface Collaborative Decision making (SCDM), departure scheduler and other airport decision tools\r\nElectronic Flight Data (EFD);\r\nEnhanced Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) Traffic Flow Management System (TFMS)\r\nReplacement or integration of multiple systems in the National Airspace System (NAS).\r\nTFDM will share data among controllers, aircraft operators, and airports so they can better stage arrivals and departures and manage traffic flow within terminal airspace for greater efficiency.\r\nStakeholders will have a shared awareness of flights on the ground and in the air, the ability to exchange data electronically, with the goal of a continuous real-time picture of traffic volume and airport resources, making flights more efficient from gate to gate.\r\nResponsibilities:\r\nSupporting the TFDM program as the Leidos Systems Engineering (SE) Concurrent Engineering (CE) Lead. Providing cross-functional technical leadership, coordination and guidance for the TFDM program the successful candidate will be:\r\nModernizing the air traffic control tower equipment by improving the exchange of electronic flight data and implementing electronic flight strips.\r\nStreamlining the schedule sequence of departures to improve efficiency on the surface.\r\nOptimizing the experience for the flying public, Air Traffic Control, and the airline industry by improving the collaboration and decision-making capabilities between the gate and the tower.\r\nSystems Engineering (SE) Concurrent Engineering (CE) Lead providing direction, coordination and guidance to the TFDM engineering team working on TFDM SIG/CRs, Change Request implementation and site deployment activities.\r\nDaily focus on driving technical teams, ensuring complex TFDM system solutions align with mission and contractual requirements.\r\nAssist with development of plans and manage resources to ensure program schedule, budget, quality and specification goals are attained.\r\nManage and monitor schedules, timelines, and milestones from initiation to delivery to meet program goals.\r\nCoordinate across TFDM product teams and functional areas to assign and prioritize tasks and ensure on-time completion.\r\nDevelop and deliver progress reports and present to internal/external engineering management and program management.\r\nIdentify and assess dependencies and issues and develop recommendations for solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives.\r\nReviewing and ensuring the quality of deliverables and work products across the team.\r\nServing as a technical interface with the FAA customer to address/answer questions relating to the developed requirements, use cases describing human interactions and design decisions.\r\nPerforming hands on Systems Engineering work as needed for the TFDM system.\r\nProviding on-site Transition support at the TFDM sites.\r\nQualifications:\r\nDemonstrated leadership abilities along with strong Systems Engineering technical skills\r\nSystems Engineering experience, including proven experience working in complex projects gathering user requirements and converting them into system requirements\r\nProven experience with supporting highly critical customer missions\r\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience:Working directly with customers to discuss their requirements and objectives\r\nInterfacing with other functional areas (e.g. Software, Hardware)Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a team environment\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\r\nTypically requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience.
