You will help build the front end of a new product catalog and e-commerce system. You will write clean, performant, accessible code in vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. This is a chance to shape a customer-facing experience from the ground up, with the opportunity to be with the team long team and convert to a full-time role.Responsibilities:Build and maintain the front end of a new catalog and ecommerce system using vanilla JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.Implement responsive, accessible, cross-browser user interfaces from design specs.Develop catalog browsing, search, filtering, product detail, cart, and checkout experiences.Partner with Product, Design, and Back-End engineers to integrate front-end code with APIs and services.Optimize for page performance, usability, and SEO.Write maintainable, well-tested, well-documented code, and take part in code reviews.Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, while applying sound engineering judgment to validate results.Qualifications:BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.3+ years of professional web development experience.Strong proficiency in vanilla JavaScript (ES6+), semantic HTML5, and modern CSS (Flexbox, Grid, responsive design).Hands-on experience with modern front-end frameworks (preferably React).Familiarity with Git and modern development workflows.Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to all audiences.Nice to Have:Knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG), performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility.Experience consuming REST APIs and handling asynchronous data (fetch, promises, async/await).Experience with ecommerce or catalog-style applications.Experience with AI-assisted development tools.Location: Menlo Park, CA (onsite 1 day/week)Type: Contract to HirePay Rate: $53/hr. - $58/hr.
