Performs customer service functions as needed. Collective Bargaining Agreement position.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to\nAnswer overflow calls from Retirement Services Representatives and more complicated participant inquiries and requests via incoming phone calls as needed.\nEnter data for new applications and update member demographics.\nHandle walk-ins for members accordingly.\nDetermine eligibility for and calculate monthly benefits of participants based upon a thorough understanding of complex Plan provisions.\nCommunicate clearly with participants, both verbally and through written communications.\nPrepare meeting reports for the Board of Trustees.\nBalance monthly ledger, process monthly pension checks and print manual checks.\nReview monthly and yearly exception reports.\nCoordinate with the Programming to implement plan changes and conduct month and year end processes.\nUpdate changes in benefit status and amounts for participants.\nCreate and maintain fund-specific procedural manuals.\nFollow established procedures in a thorough and consistent manner.\nAbility to work independently with minimal assistance and supervision.\nRegular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job.\nQualifications - Excellent customer service skills are a must.\n\nEducation and/or Experience - High School diploma or GED and some college and/or job- related experience. Familiarity with ERISA, REA, PPA and DOL/IRS Code and regulations directly related to job duties.\n\nLanguage Skills - Ability to comprehend written materials such as plan documents and legal correspondence. Communicate professionally, tactfully and clearly with participants, fellow employees and other professionals.\n\nMathematical Skills - Ability to apply concepts of basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra. Must be able to understand and apply knowledge of decimals, fractions, and percentages.\n\nReasoning Skills - Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions. Ability to assess and analyze results for accuracy and efficiency.\n\nComputer Skills - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.\n\nPhone Skills - Ability to handle a variety of callers in a pleasant, respectful, patient and efficient manner.\n\nOccupational Skills - Ability to work in an organized manner. Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.\n\nWork Schedule - Full time (less than 40 hours but more than 30). Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 3:30pm.
