This role will be required to partner with company managers to ensure compliance and accuracy of our books and records.The Accountant II is an organized, detail-oriented role that assists with a wide range of monthly, quarterly and annual accounting responsibilities. Candidates need to bring strong analytical skills to the role and should be capable of handling challenging, fast-paced work environments while working with limited supervision. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders in finance, tax, procurement, contract management, and sales operations, as well as others, and help staff accounting professionals develop their skills.Duties/Responsibilities: Execute monthly accounting close activities and account reconciliationsEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and proceduresEnsure proper revenue and expenses are recognized in accordance with GAAPGeneral ledger operations including performing account substantiationsMaintain and account for all capital and operating leasesPrepare journal entriesEnsure financial close and reporting deadlines are metPrepare financial management reportsEnsure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year end closesEstablish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of accounting control proceduresIndependently resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularitiesMaintain vendor master file and assign vendor codesAssist with Annual 1099 reporting at the calendar year-endWork cross-functionally with and support our business partners by providing financial insights and relevant reportingProvide support and assist with the company year-end financial auditAssist with ad-hoc projects as assignedMentor junior team membersCollaborate with team and business partners on financial reporting enhancementsResponsible for projecting a positive image of GDM and act in accordance with the Company’s Core ValuesPerforms other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Thorough understanding of accountingExcellent oral and written communication skillsSolid technical accounting skillsMust have problem solving abilitiesAbility to effectively present informationStrong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines and multitaskStrong work ethic and positive attitudeAbility to maintain confidentiality of sensitive informationProficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced level in ExcelAbility to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical materialAbility to demonstrate excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining attention to detailEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline requiredCPA and/or Master’s degree preferred3-5 years of general accounting experience preferredKnowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and Lease accountingExperience in Concur and SAP helpful, but not requiredMust have valid driver’s license and meet MVR guidelines.
