Maintenance Team Lead

Maintenance Mechanic/Supervisor – Production LinesThe Maintenance Mechanic/Supervisor is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production line equipment used in food processing and packaging. This role ensures maximum uptime, supports preventive maintenance programs, and helps maintain compliance with food‑safety and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong mechanical aptitude, experience in automated food‑processing environments, and the ability to respond quickly to equipment issues.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on processing and packaging equipment.Service conveyors, cutters, washers, baggers, flow wrappers, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other production line components.Replace worn or damaged parts, including bearings, belts, sprockets, chains, seals, and sensors.Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime and support continuous production.Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform accurate repairs.Execute scheduled PM tasks to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned breakdowns.Inspect equipment for wear, alignment, lubrication needs, and safety compliance.Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition.Recommend improvements to PM procedures and equipment reliability.Perform basic welding and fabrication (MIG/TIG) on stainless‑steel components to food‑grade standards.Assist with utilities such as compressed air, water, and electrical distribution supporting production lines.Install and set up equipment, including drives, sensors, and control components.Follow all OSHA, FDA, GMP, and safety and sanitation requirements.Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures and safe work practices at all times.Maintain clean, organized work areas and support facility audits.Qualifications:High school diploma or GED required; technical/vocational training preferred.3+ years of maintenance experience in food processing, manufacturing, or industrial environments.Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical systems.Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.Experience with welding, fabrication, and food‑grade stainless‑steel work is a plus.Ability to work in a cold, wet, fast‑paced production environment.Willingness to work off‑shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.
