Our modelers thrive in a culture of mutual respect, excellence and innovation.\n\nSuccessful candidates would possess:\n\nDeep understanding of quantitative modeling in relation to finance, deposit behaviors, capital markets and investment portfolio modeling principles.\n\nExtensive experience in Python or other object-oriented language.\n\nAbility to clearly communicate modeling results to a wide range of audiences.\n\nDrive to develop and maintain high quality and transparent model documentation.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nStrong presentation skills.\n\nAbility to fully own the model development process: from conceptualization through data exploration, model selection, validation, deployment, business user training, and monitoring.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nCurrently has, or is in the process of obtaining one of the following with an exception that the required degree will be obtained on or before the scheduled start date: A Master’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field) or an MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 3 years of experience in quantitative analytics\nA PhD in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field)\n\nAt least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills through education or experience: Statistical or econometric modeling\nLinear and logistic regression\nProgramming in R, Python or SQL\nPresenting statistical concepts and research results to non-statistical audience\n\nAt least 3 years of experience in at least 3 of the following skills: Survival analysis modeling\nTime-series analysis\nPanel data (longitudinal data or cross-sectional time-series data) analysis\nCross-sectional data analysis\nMachine learning\nAnalysis and management of large datasets (>1M records)\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n4 years of experience with Python, R or other statistical analyst software\n\n4 years of experience manipulating and analyzing large data sets\n\nCapital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.\n\nThe minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location.
