We are looking for an energetic, hands-on, and solutions-driven Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our manufacturing team. What You’ll Do As an EHS Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing BGF’s environmental, health, and safety initiatives across manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Partner with plant leadership to promote a proactive safety culture focused on prevention and accountability Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs Conduct safety audits, inspections, hazard assessments, and risk evaluations Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns while helping implement corrective actions Support OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory compliance activities Coordinate safety training and employee engagement initiatives Maintain EHS records, reports, permits, and documentation Monitor environmental compliance programs including waste management, air emissions, and chemical handling Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency Work closely with supervisors and employees to identify opportunities for safer processes and work practices Assist with emergency response planning and preparedness activities Support contractor safety and compliance programs Help drive safety metrics, reporting, and communication across departments What We’re Looking For Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments preferred Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety regulations Strong communication, training, and relationship-building skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting systems Ability to influence positive behavioral and cultural change Bonus Points If You Have Experience in textiles, industrial manufacturing, or heavy manufacturing OSHA certifications or EHS-related certifications Experience with incident investigations and root cause analysis Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement experience Why Join BGF?
