In short, We Enable Possibility℠.Responsibilities And AccountabilitiesFinancial Close & Accounting OperationsSupport the quarterly financial close process, including preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and flux analysis, variance analyses, and supporting schedulesAssist with cash flow flux analysis to support financial reporting, management review and corporate consolidationsPrepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standardsSupport income statement close activities and assist with related financial reporting deliverablesSupport the financial consolidation process, performing system reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting platformsInsurance Accounting & Reporting SupportConduct premium receivable aging analysis by business division, monitor bad debt reserves, and support CECL reserve calculationsPrepare Excess Ceding Commission and Deferred Ceding Commission calculations in accordance with accounting policiesAssist with the preparation of quarterly financial reports and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) materialsPerform Deferred Acquisition Cost (DAC) calculations and support related reportingReview Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) reserves, case reserve discounting, and other activity prior to ledger integrationData, Systems & Process ImprovementProvide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decision-makingIdentify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency through process improvements, automation, and data integration, including development of Excel macros, automated reporting templates, or system-based solutionsContribute to finance transformation initiatives, including implementation of new systems, tools, and reporting processesMaintain a strong commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and internal control complianceRequired Skills And AbilitiesStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement analysisAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and pivot tables, data modeling, and automation techniquesDemonstrated interest in using technology and data to improve accounting and reporting processes, including the ability to cleanly, clearly, and professionally present financial data in well‑structured models, reports, and management‑ready outputsExperience with data querying tools (e.g., SQL), financial data extraction, or automation techniques to improve reporting efficiency is a plusExperience developing automated or dynamic financial reportsAbility to analyze large datasets and synthesize insights into actionable financial informationStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionallyDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlinesHigh level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExperience working in a fast-paced, high-volume finance environmentFamiliarity with financial reporting tools such as Workday, TM1, or OneStream is a plus; ability to quickly learn new toolsEducation/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field2–4 years of accounting, financial reporting, or finance experience, preferably within the insurance industryExperience with Property & Casualty insurance accounting strongly preferredExperience supporting public company financial reporting or close processes is a plusCPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred but not required -hybridFor individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.$71,000 - $92,000/yearTotal individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
