Principal Engineer – AI Architect

Location: HybridLevel: Senior / Principal (10+ years of experience)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of end-to-end artificial intelligence solutions. This role combines technical leadership with strategic thinking to deliver scalable, secure, and high-impact AI systems aligned with business objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and oversee end-to-end AI systems, including data pipelines, model lifecycle, deployment, and integrationDefine and execute AI strategy aligned with organizational goalsIdentify high-impact use cases and assess return on investmentCollaborate with data engineers, machine learning engineers, and MLOps teamsEnsure scalability, performance, and cost efficiency of AI solutionsImplement CI/CD pipelines and monitoring for machine learning systemsEstablish governance frameworks, including security, compliance, and ethical AI practicesProvide technical leadership and mentor engineering teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related discipline10+ years of experience in software engineering or AI/ML rolesStrong expertise in AI/ML, including large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent-based systemsProficiency in Python and modern software engineering practicesExperience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Hugging FaceExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization technologies such as Docker and KubernetesPreferred QualificationsExperience designing distributed AI systemsStrong understanding of data architecture, including ETL processes, feature stores, and vector databasesKnowledge of AI governance, security, and compliance frameworksAbility to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersHybrid role – Open to relocation in San Juan, Puerto Rico (Relocation assistance provided)
