Project Manager

As a Project Manager at GLY, you are a strategic leader who guides projects from early conceptual planning through final closeout, balancing technical excellence, operational precision, and relationship‑driven leadership. In this role, you’ll influence the full lifecycle of project delivery by shaping preconstruction strategy, driving effective project execution, strengthening team capability, and fostering long‑term client and partner relationships. You’ll model GLY’s commitment to integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement while ensuring each project is positioned for success.What You Get To DoPRECONSTRUCTIONWork with the Principal/Project Executive/Sr. Project Manager to maximize competitiveness of new building projects.Analyze new construction technologies and run competitivePlan and direct all investigations and negotiations pertaining to technical aspects of conceptual estimating and building of projects. Estimate costs of materials, labor, and use of equipment required to fulfill provisions ofDemonstrate credible interface with client, design professionals, consultants and trade partners.Confer with clients to negotiate terms ofConduct skilled constructabilityPrepare instructions to bid, evaluate and level bids, ensuring full scope coverage.Effectively schedule all preconstructionEffectively develop and track budgets, leading to the estimate creation.Engage trade partners for craftwork such as mechanical, electrical, structural steel, concrete, and plumbing.Follow GLY's trade partner prequalification protocol, ensuring timely onboarding of trade partners to meet schedule or procurement deadlines.Demonstrate risk recognition and managementCreate a completed project schedule for the construction team and plan for implementation of projectPROJECT MANAGEMENTDemonstrate a solid knowledge of GLY building productDemonstrate understanding and proper administration of different contracting types, including, but not limited to: GMP, Lump Sum, GC/CM, and Design/Build.Demonstrate strong planningDispense advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans and procedures, consistent with established policies and practice.Apply effective problem-solving skills, which are appropriately creative andCreate budgets, allocate resources, and determine schedule of projectPurchase and ensure that materials for construction are on site asSubmit accurate monthly cost reports, end of job cost reports and labor forecasts in a timely manner with communication to any challenges arising with plan for recovery.Complete document processing such as PCO’s, CO’s and invoices – in concert with the monthly cost forecast cycle.Inspect work at sites for compliance with terms, schedule and specifications ofReview operating results of the construction team; compare them to established objectives and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct any unsatisfactoryIdentify and controlDemonstrate cost controlConduct effective and timely trade partner/vendorDemonstrate timely and accurate close out activities ~60 days from substantial completion.ADMINISTRATIONEffectively utilize project management and estimatingConsistently meet deadlines and projectTrain, mentor, and delegate staffDemonstrate strong leadershipDemonstrate a customer service approach to managementDemonstrate professionalism in both written and verbalEstablish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the project team.Demonstrate competency in using computer and softwareSeek educational and training opportunities that embody continuous learning.MARKETING/RELATIONSHIPSSources/ secures new business opportunities through establishing initial contact and sustaining long term relationships in concert with GLY Marketing and Business Planning efforts.Foster outstanding customer service and positive clientConvey an image that supports GLY's vision, purpose andDeliver effective presentations and demonstrate accomplished interviewDevelop and manage a Personal MarketingActively participate in professional associations asSupport information management of CRM database for assigned contacts andSupervisory ResponsibilitiesManage assigned Project Engineers. Coordinate other Project Managers, Project Engineers and Project Administrators as directed by the Principal/Project Executive/Senior Project Manager.What It Takes5+ years’ project management experience in commercial construction. Minimum 10 years total industry experience.Proven track record of winning work as the key selling resource.Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.DBIA, LEED, LEAN and / or other related industry accreditations preferred.Strong communication skills and proven ability to navigate challenging situations for positive outcomes.Excellent written, verbal and other interpersonal communication skills - communication is a large part of what we do!A positive attitude and ability to work well with others – we like to have fun.Adaptable – you work well under pressure and adapt quickly to different situations and work environments.Willingness to learn and an openness to new ideas.
