Tobacco Cessation and Employee Assistance/Referral Program, Uniform Service, Safety Shoe, and Safety Prescription-Eyewear benefits are also available\nJOB SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for leading the processes regarding make-ready, operations and maintenance of the printing press, in doing so efficiently, safely and accurately.\nJOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following:\nSetup and adjust press\nTroubleshoot and correct quality/machine problems\nReview job bag to ensure proper specifications\nDirect crews to stay on task\nControl color to proper delta E\nAbility to use densitometer\nPerform PM and minor repairs\nWork with Printing Manager to suggest potential improvements (productivity, process & quality)\nEnsure necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality of specifications of the work\nAbility to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully\nAdjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.\nAssist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.\nWash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.\nPrimary point man for maintenance of the press.\nPerforms other duties as required to achieve the overall goals and objectives of the Company.\nBACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:\nPrior experience in a similar Press Operator role required.\nManufacturing experience preferred.\nExperience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts preferred.\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\nSKILLS:\nLANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.\nMATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.\nREASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Company issued Fork Truck Operator’s License\nEDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:\nHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent required\nOne year of professional working experience, preferred in a manufacturing environment\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\n· SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:\nSchedules can be up to 12-hour shifts Mondays – Sundays (particularly if mode/continuous run schedule).
