We excel at what we do and are looking for talented construction professionals that want to excel with us.\nThe Asphalt Paving Machine Screed Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the screed. This positions operates the screed to provide the level asphalt surface.\n\nResponsibilities\nPerform daily equipment maintenance and inspections\nOperate equipment in a safe and efficient manner\nPrior to and at the end of each shift ensure the screed is clean and properly adjusted for the type of paving to be completed.\nMonitor temperature settings\nAdjust the screed paving reference components to the project specs, paving, width, depth (thickness), grade and slope\nEnsure proper contact between gates and the paving surface\nAdjust endgate springs and chains for clearance\nBe able to troubleshoot problems and make the necessary screed adjustments concerning the asphalt during paving operations\nInstall/Remove electronic grade control\nAssist paving crew with site preparation and any other activity as needed\nParticipate as a vital team member, contributing towards Austin’s success\nAttend daily safety meetings\nFollow safety policies and procedures\nWork hours adjusted to meet the project’s needs; days, nights and weekends\nAble to work in adverse weather conditions, hot or cold temperatures\nOther duties as assigned\nQualifications\n1+ years of experience operating asphalt equipment\nMust have a strong commitment to jobsite safety\nDiligent in demonstrating safe work practices.\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States.
