Manufacturing Operations Engineer

The Manufacturing OperationsQuality Engineer is a multi-disciplinary leader responsible for the end-to-end integrity of the production lifecycle. This role combines technical precision (CMM/Calibration) with strategic operations (ERP implementation/5S). You will ensure that every part meets customer specifications while maintaining a lean, organized, and digitally-tracked production environment. Key Responsibilities1. Quality AssurancePrecision MeasurementInspection Excellence: Conduct rigorous quality checks on parts and execute high-precision inspections using CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).Calibration Management: Establish and maintain a master Calibration Schedule for all hand tools, gauges, and machinery to ensure ISO/Industry compliance.New Customer Onboarding: Lead First Article Inspections (FAI) to validate processes for new client projects.Audit-Ready Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of processes, inspection results, and calibration certifications. 2. Production PlanningTooling SystemsTool Room Infrastructure: Develop and optimize a centralized Tool Room, ensuring all assets are tracked and maintained.Process Preparation: Prepare Job Routers for scheduled production and complete kitting of all necessary tooling and gauges before a job hits the floor.Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical production issues to minimize downtime and scrap rates. 3. SystemsInventory ManagementERP Implementation: Act as the lead for implementing and managing the ERP system, ensuring it serves as the "single source of truth" for the plant.Lifecycle Inventory: Manage the end-to-end flow of raw materials and tooling, from receiving and ERP entry to final inventory counts.Logistics: Oversee the shipping of finished goods, ensuring all parts are matched with the correct documentation and compliance certificates. 4. Operational Excellence (Lean Manufacturing)Plant-Wide 5S: Lead the implementation of 5S methodology to standardize workplace organization and safety.Visual Management: Design and maintain Kanban boards to streamline production flow and material replenishment. Candidate Profile: Experience 3-5 years in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, or Operations Management.Technical Skills Proficiency in CMM operation, Blueprint reading, and GD&T.Systems Advanced experience with ERP/MRP software and Inventory Management systems.Lean Tools Demonstrated success implementing 5S, Kanban, and Flow optimization.Soft Skills High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a "process-first" mindset. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Calibration Compliance: 100% of tools calibrated within their required window.Inventory Accuracy: Minimal variance between physical stock and ERP records.Quality Rate: Achievement of "Zero Defect" shipments for First Article Inspections.5S Score: Consistent improvement in plant-wide organization audits.
