The successful candidate will develop PLC and HMI applications, integrate SCADA systems, troubleshoot control hardware and software, and work closely with electrical, mechanical, and operations teams to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient automation solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, program, test, and maintain PLC control logic for new and existing equipment and systems.Develop and configure HMI screens and operator interfaces to provide clear, safe, and effective control and monitoring.Integrate and support SCADA systems for plant-wide data acquisition, visualization, and alarm management.Perform system validation, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities.Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues, implement corrective actions, and optimize control strategies to improve process performance and uptime.Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including control narratives, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, and software revision records.Collaborate with project managers, electrical and mechanical engineers, technicians, and operations personnel to define requirements and deliver automation projects on schedule and within budget.Support continuous improvement initiatives, including retrofits, upgrades, and lifecycle management of control systems.Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and company policies during design, installation, and commissioning.Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient system operation.QualificationsBachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.3+ years of hands-on experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, or a closely related role.Proven experience programming PLCs (such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) and developing HMI applications.Experience with SCADA platforms (e.g., Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk) and industrial communications (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet).Strong understanding of control system design, ladder logic and structured text programming, PID tuning, and process control fundamentals.Hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment.Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and control narratives.Proficient with version control and documentation practices for automation software.Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills, with a focus on safety and quality.Willingness to travel to job sites for commissioning and support as required.Preferred: experience with automated machinery, robotics integration, network security for control systems, and familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies.Nice-to-have skills: PLC, HMI, Controls, SCADA, Automation.
