Hospice CNA / Hospice AidePosition SummaryThe Hospice Aide provides personal care and supportive services to hospice patients in their place of residence under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment while supporting patients and families with compassionate end-of-life care.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care according to the Hospice Plan of CareAssist patients with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transfers, ambulation, and nutritionMaintain a clean, safe, and comfortable patient environmentObserve, report, and document changes in patient condition and care providedPractice infection control and safety proceduresCommunicate respectfully and compassionately with patients, families, and staffAssist with treatments and procedures according to hospice policySupport the hospice philosophy and quality of care standardsDemonstrate effective time management and teamworkQualificationsHigh School Diploma preferredCompletion of CNA, Hospice Aide, Home Health Aide, or state-approved Nurse Aide Training/Competency ProgramOne year of experience preferred in hospice, home health, hospital, nursing home, or long-term careAbility to read, write, and communicate clinical information effectivelyCompassionate, dependable, and patient-focusedSuccessful completion of competency evaluation and skills testingRequirementsCurrent driver’s licenseReliable transportationValid auto liability insuranceWorking ConditionsTravel to patient homes requiredPossible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, infectious diseases, and various home environmentsFlexible schedule and local travel requiredAbility to stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, transfer patients, and use durable medical equipment safely
