Sr. Network Engineer (SME)

Summary: The Network Engineer will plan, design, implement, and manage a government client infrastructure to ensure the stable and secure deployment & operation of client IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of secure, highly available network systems supporting agency-wide initiatives and consolidation efforts. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cisco and Arista technologies Responsibilities and Services: Provide 24x7 operational support for enterprise network infrastructure across multiple sites and data centersMonitor, analyze, and resolve network incidents in accordance with established SLAs and federal service delivery standardsConfigure and maintain Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR, FTD), Wireless and Arista EOS-based network devicesSupport secure network architectures in compliance with federal standards, including FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and FedRAMPImplement and manage routing and switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP) in segmented and high-availability environmentsSupport data center and cloud networking technologies (VXLAN, EVPN, hybrid cloud connectivity)Perform network performance monitoring, capacity planning, and proactive optimizationCollaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies, including ACLs, IDS/IPS integration, and boundary protectionParticipate in change management processes aligned with ITIL best practicesDevelop and maintain technical documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and runbooksSupport audit readiness activities, including documentation and remediation effortsParticipate in on-call rotation and support incident response activities Assumes on-call responsibilities as needed to ensure SLAs are met.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship (required for federal contract compliance)Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Secret Clearance (as required by contract)Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in network operations within enterprise or government environmentsStrong hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies and Arista switching platforms and EOSDeep understanding of TCP/IP networking and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios)Familiarity with federal security and compliance requirementsExperience with Arista CloudVisionExperience and familiarity with Zero trust network access
