This role requires deep technical expertise in system design, electronics, and multidisciplinary engineering, along with strong cross-functional leadership and system-level problem solving.\n\nThe successful candidate will drive requirements development, integration strategies, and product qualification activities while working closely with electrical, software, mechanical, physics, and product engineering teams. This position is ideal for a systems engineering professional with semiconductor equipment experience and a strong background in advanced instrumentation and e-beam technologies.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nLead the design, integration, validation and qualification of advanced e-beam and SEM systems and subsystems.\n\nDefine system requirements, interfaces, and verification strategies for new product development.\n\nLead system-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical issues.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to evaluate technical trade-offs and optimize system performance.\n\nSupport product introduction, manufacturing transfer, and technology deployment activities.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics , or a closely related technical discipline.\n\nMinimum 5 years of industry experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced instrumentation, or related high-technology product development.\n\nDemonstrated experience as a Systems Engineering (SE) professional , leading multidisciplinary technical development efforts.\n\nStrong foundation in electronics, hardware/software integration, and system-level engineering.\n\nExperience with requirements development, system integration, verification, validation, and technical risk management.\n\nProven ability to independently lead cross-functional engineering activities and execute complex technical projects.\n\nExcellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nIndustry experience in semiconductor equipment, advanced instrumentation, or related high-technology products.\n\nSEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) or e-beam system design experience strongly preferred.\n\nExperience with mixed-signal electronics, FPGA-based designs, or embedded control systems.\n\nExperience using scripting and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar) for system characterization, test automation, diagnostics, and data acquisition.\n\nExperience with vacuum technology\n\nExperience with high-voltage technology\n\nExperience with requirements allocation, requirements traceability, verification planning, and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nDoctorate (Academic) Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 6 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 8 years\n\nBase Pay Range: $159,500.00 - $271,200.00 Annually\n\nPrimary Location: USA-CA-Milpitas-KLA\n\nKLA’s total rewards package for employees may also include participation in performance incentive programs and eligibility for additional benefits including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, life, and other voluntary benefits, 401(K) including company matching, employee stock purchase program (ESPP), student debt assistance, tuition reimbursement program, development and career growth opportunities and programs, financial planning benefits, wellness benefits including an employee assistance program (EAP), paid time off and paid company holidays, and family care and bonding leave.\n\nInterns are eligible for some of the benefits listed.
