Elementary Library Coordinator
Murphy Elementary May 19, 2026 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Associate degree or equivalent.Knowledge of basic library procedures and materials.Experience in media technology (e.g., video, computer, Internet, etc.)Prior experience working with students. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Previous library experience.Teaching certificate.Working experience with computers, online catalog/circulation systems, Internet/Web 2.0, and productivity software such as Microsoft Office. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the circulation of library materials for students and staff and generate overdue notices, as necessary.Maintain a current and accurate catalog of library materials.Order, process, and prepare incoming materials for the library according to the district's Collection Development Guidelines.Welcome classes to the media center and assist students and teachers in locating instructional materials for class research projects.Manage the circulation of AV and technology equipment for the school.Provide assistance to students and staff in the use of library resources and equipment, such as the online catalog system, data projectors, digital cameras, etc.Organize media center activities such as book fairs, author visits, and other literacy events.Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.Recess Lunch Aide (as part of the Paraprofessional Unit) HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT: 25 hours per week (5 additional/recess) COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: As per Master Contract with Haslett Educational Secretaries APPLY TO: Human Resources https://www.haslett.k12.mi.us/domain/41 DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: May 29, 2026, or until filled.
