Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nSystem Programming & Platform Management\nLead installation, customization, and maintenance of z/OS operating system environments\nManage core components including MVS, JES2, Sysplex, and LPAR configurations\nAdminister and maintain HCD/IODF definitions for hardware and I/O configuration\nPerform system-level tuning and optimization to ensure high availability and performance\nMaintenance & Upgrades\nPlan and execute z/OS upgrades, RSU maintenance, and patching cycles\nManage SMP/E for software installation, maintenance, and CSI handling\nOversee lifecycle management of ISV products, including upgrades and vendor coordination\nIncident & Problem Management\nProvide L3 support for critical incidents, ensuring timely resolution of Sev1/Sev2 issues\nLead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions\nEnsure adherence to SLA commitments and service quality standards\nHigh Availability, DR & Resilience\nSupport Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and execution, including drills and failover validation\nEnsure system readiness for business continuity through Sysplex resilience and redundancy\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams for infrastructure risk mitigation\nAutomation & Operational Excellence\nDrive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort\nImplement and maintain system automation frameworks for monitoring and recovery\nContinuously improve processes aligned to ITIL best practices\nLeadership & Stakeholder Management\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior system programmers\nCollaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors for solution delivery\nParticipate in customer discussions, audits, and transformation initiatives\nKey Requirements and Technology Experience:\nSkills:Strong experience in z/OS System Programming\nMVS, JES2\nSysplex, LPAR\nHCD / IODF configuration\nSMP/E\nz/OS Upgrade & RSU Maintenance\nISV Product Maintenance\nIncident Management & RCA\nDisaster Recovery (DR) support\nSystem Automation tools/methodologies\n10+ years of experience in z/OS system programming\nExperience in enterprise mainframe environments (Banking/Insurance preferred)\nExposure to high-availability and mission-critical systems\nOur client is a leading IT Industry and we are currently interviewing to fill this and other similar contract positions.
