Head of Finance - Pharmaceuticals
Overview
The Head of Finance – USA will lead the financial strategy, operations, and governance for the U.S. Generics pharmaceutical business. This role requires deep expertise in pharma finance, distributor management, audit compliance, and strategic planning. The incumbent will deliver key financial milestones, drive commercial insights, and enable sustainable growth through robust financial controls and cross-functional collaboration. You will be part of the larger global finance team with internal counterparts located in Dubai, India, and Switzerland.
Location & Travel
Location: Remote, Eastern Time Zone working hours
Travel: East coast travel anticipated; International travel anticipated 1-2x per year
Responsibilities
Lead accounting, financial close, and compliance for U.S. legal entities
Drive budgeting, forecasting (LE), and Long-Range Planning (LRP)
Manage distributor agreements, credit control, AR, and commercial audits
Oversee GTN audits, legal entity audits, and invoicing entity reviews
Provide financial insights for pricing, product launches, and BD deal structuring
Support CDMO evaluations, capital infusion planning, and term sheet reviews
Deliver dashboards, trend analysis, and monthly finance reviews to management
Lead cash flow forecasting, treasury operations, and DOA governance
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in accounting with strong understanding of pharmaceutical operations, including knowledge of chargebacks, deductions, and industry regulations (e.g., DSCSA, Medicaid, Medicare).
Strong experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Business Central) and advanced analytic tools
Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting techniques preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, with a strong sense of accountability and integrity.
