Psychiatric Nurse PractitionerDiagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic psychiatric illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. Manage clients' treatment by creating and following a treatment plan providing emotional support and advocating for clients. The NP may order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests, conduct individual, group or family counseling sessions, and write prescriptions including psychotropic medicines. Psychiatric nurses provide a range of therapies to clients in their care.Essential FunctionsPrescribe medication dosage, routes, and frequencies based on clients' characteristics such as age andAnalyze and interpret clients' history, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practiceDiagnose or treat acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, andPrescribe medications based on efficacy, safety, and cost as legallyInforms clients about drug regimens, side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over-the-counter (OTC) medications, and herbal remedies.Recommend interventions to modify behavior associated with healthEducate clients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to clients' individual circumstances.Understand Electronic Health Record, utilize to its fullest capabilities, and have record complete within policy regulations.Works with a team of professionals to provide quality client.Provide weekly and monthly supervision for staff development and to guide development of other employees.Conduct weekly meetings with clinical team.Meet with Supervisor on a weekly basis.Perform clinical assessments to determine an appropriate level of care for clients via the office (face-to-face), during outreach community events, telehealth, and/or zoom conferencing.Professional RequirementsAdhere to dress code, appearance is neat andComplete annual educationAlways maintain client confidentiality.Report to work on time and asWear identification while onMaintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and localAlways represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical businessCommunicate the mission, ethics and goals of theParticipate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvementAttend regular staff meetingsPosition will require at least 20 hours per week of work-related task/supervision.Qualifications:Master's Degree in Nursing or Science of NursingMust have 3-5 years' experience as a practicing Certified Nurse PractitionerCurrent Nurse Practitioner Certified from AANP or ANCCCurrent Nursing License as a Certified Nurse PractitionerKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documentsUsing scientific rules and methods to solve problems.Talking with others; convey information effectively.Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Understanding the implications of current information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Considering the relative cost and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.Physical Requirements and Environmental ConditionsMay walk up to 3-4 hours aMay sit for at least 2-4 hours per dayMay lift up to 25 poundsMay assist client in standing, laying, walking and/or sittingFrequently bends, stoops, reaches, and pushes/pulls.The ability to work in varying degrees of temperature (A/C).The ability work under extreme pressure andThe ability to manage irate clients, peers, or the general public in a professionalThe employee is expected to adhere to all agency policies and to function as a role model in adherence to agency policies.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
