This role supports both infrastructure and application teams by ensuring database platforms are reliable, secure, highly available, and optimized for performance and cost efficiency.\n\nThe Azure SQL DBA will administer SQL Server running on Azure Virtual Machines as well as Azure SQL Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offerings. The position will participate in cloud modernization efforts, disaster recovery planning, automation initiatives, and database migrations while supporting business-critical applications and services.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nDatabase Administration\nInstall, configure, maintain, and upgrade SQL Server environments.\nAdminister SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments.\nMonitor database health, availability, and performance.\nTroubleshoot and resolve database issues, blocking, deadlocks, performance bottlenecks, and capacity constraints.\nDevelop and maintain operational standards, documentation, and procedures.\nAzure Database Services\nAdminister Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines.\nConfigure and manage Azure SQL backups, retention policies, and geo-replication.\nImplement and support Azure-based high availability and disaster recovery solutions.\nAssist in cloud migration initiatives from on-premises SQL environments to Azure.\nPerformance Optimization\nAnalyze execution plans, indexes, and workload performance.\nTune databases and SQL queries to improve application responsiveness.\nMonitor storage utilization, IOPS, memory, and CPU consumption.\nRecommend and implement optimization strategies to improve performance while controlling costs.\nBackup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery\nImplement and validate database backup and recovery strategies.\nSupport Rubrik or equivalent enterprise backup solutions.\nConduct restoration testing and disaster recovery exercises.\nEnsure recovery objectives (RTO/RPO) are met for critical applications.\nParticipate in business continuity planning and recovery documentation.\nSecurity & Compliance\nImplement database security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and access controls.\nManage SQL Server permissions, service accounts, and authentication methods.\nSupport vulnerability remediation efforts and security audits.\nAssist with compliance requirements related to data protection and regulatory standards.\nPartner with Cybersecurity teams to address database risks and findings.\nAutomation & DevOps\nDevelop and maintain PowerShell and T-SQL automation scripts.\nSupport Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) deployments using Terraform and Azure DevOps pipelines.\nAutomate database provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and reporting processes.\nCollaborate with DevOps and Cloud Operations teams to improve deployment efficiency and consistency.\nMonitoring & Incident Response\nMonitor database environments using enterprise monitoring tools.\nParticipate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.\nConduct root cause analysis for major incidents.\nDocument issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures.\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent work experience.\nExperience\n5+ years of SQL Server Database Administration experience.\n3+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments.\nExperience managing SQL Server High Availability solutions including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, Log Shipping, and Replication.\nExperience supporting enterprise backup and recovery solutions.\nExperience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.\nTechnical Skills\nMicrosoft SQL Server Administration\nT-SQL Development and Optimization\nAzure SQL Database\nAzure SQL Managed Instance\nSQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines\nPowerShell Scripting\nAzure Monitor and Log Analytics\nBackup and Recovery Technologies\nPerformance Monitoring and Capacity Planning\nAzure DevOps and CI/CD concepts\nPreferred Qualifications\nMicrosoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300) — preferred but not required.\nExperience with Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.\nExperience with Rubrik Backup and Recovery platforms.\nExperience with Azure Site Recovery.\nExperience supporting PostgreSQL, MySQL, or other enterprise database platforms.\nKnowledge of NIST, CIS, or other security frameworks.\nExperience in regulated or audit-driven environments.\n\nSkills\n\nMandatory Skills : MySQL DBA\n\nOther details\n\nActual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.\nBenefits/perks listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with LTIMindtree (“LTIM”):\nBenefits and Perks:\nComprehensive Medical Plan Covering Medical, Dental, Vision\nShort Term and Long-Term Disability Coverage\n401(k) Plan with Company match\nLife Insurance\nVacation Time, Sick Leave, Paid Holidays\nPaid Paternity and Maternity Leave\nThe range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum salary target for the position across all US locations.
