Building Services Associate II / Department of Corrections
Class Summary Job Description The Building Services Associate II position is responsible for supervising inmates to include prioritizing and assigning work, ensuring inmates are trained, ensuring inmates are following policies and procedures, and making recommendations for transfers.Essential DutiesAssisting and training new Building AssociatesPerforming custodial work to include vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, cleaning restrooms, emptying trach, dusting, and laundryHandling the removal of surplus equipment and furnishingCollecting all recyclable products and delivering to dock areaReceiving and delivering packages and cleaning suppliesMaintaining a healthy and safe work environmentMaintaining and cleaning equipment and supplies usedPerforming other duties of a similar nature or level Other Job Requirements/Information This job is a safety sensitive position that will require a pre-employment drug test and subsequent random drug and alcohol testing. This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. Due to the sensitive nature of this position, a public safety background which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories, and fingerprinting. This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays. The following must be obtained within 90 days: CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. State Inmate Supervisor Certificate. Grade The grade for this position is A13(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.Effective 4/11/2023, this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.Minimum Qualifications Completion of coursework up through 8th grade AND Two years of directly related experience An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
