W2.\nSummary:\nAs a Senior Engineer in Vehicle Dynamics Development you will support the testing, tuning, development and validation of the best riding and handling vehicles in the world. You will work alongside other development and CAE engineers, mechanical and software engineers and system owners, key stakeholders and management across the company, to develop and deliver world-class suspension, steering, braking, wheel/tire and vehicle dynamics systems from concept to production.\nThis team focuses on the design and physical development of how the vehicle drives. This group splits their time between the office and traveling with the vehicles to different test sites to test their functionality.\nResponsibilities:\n• Develop and iterate vehicle hardware and software calibrations using subjective and data-driven processes.\n• Install robust data acquisition systems on prototype vehicles; create, perform, analyze, and document test results.\n• Objective and subjective analysis of attributes, on benchmark vehicles.\n• Troubleshoot and document mechanical, electrical, and software problems in a fast-paced environment.\n• Work closely with cross-functional teams from across the business to make efficient, timely, data-driven decisions.\n• Assist preparation, component upgrades, and maintenance of vehicle dynamics prototype fleet.\n• Work with multiple complex projects in a demanding environment.\n• Travel domestically and internationally as required.\n• A strong desire to create state-of-the-art engineering products as an integral part of a very capable team.\nRequired Skills:\n3-5 overall years of experience in the Automotive industry.\nCandidates WITHOUT vehicle dynamics or suspension or development design experience will NOT be considered.\n5 or more years of automotive experience with a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics principles.\nDemonstrated ability to deliver vehicles with world-class dynamics attributes.\nExperience in both objective and subjective assessment, data acquisition and analysis.\nExperience in tuning several of the following: coil springs, air springs, dampers, anti-roll bars, bushings, tires, suspension control software, electric power steering, stability control, torque vectoring systems, and other dynamics-related control systems.\nKnowledge of the basic principles of ADAMS, CarRealTime, CarMaker, CarSim or similar.\nUnderstanding of MATLAB/Simulink fundamentals.\nFamiliarity with Python, C++.\nBS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering.\nPreferred Skills:\nSpecific vehicle dynamics experience for competitors such as General Motors, Porche, or BMW specifically.\n• Desire for continual learning\n• Excellent problem-solving ability, using fundamental principles and data-driven decision making\n• Advanced driving qualifications\nPay for this position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
